These are professional training courses in a multi-module mode (stationary, field, online, mentoring, self work) ending with an exam and receiving a certificate confirming practical and theoretical specialist skills necessary to perform a given profession.

We invite you to a certification forest therapy guide training led in English by a multidisciplinary team of experts: scientists, practitioners, trainers and mentors.

For whom: the training is dedicated to people with at least highschool education who wish to acquire the competences of a forest therapy guide. It is often chosen by health care professionals (doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists), nature educators, teachers, social workers, activists, tourist guides, foresters, tourism and agro-tourism entrepreneurs, coaches, NGO employees and nature lovers and enthusiasts.

Structure: the course consists of 2 field sessions:

Session 1 (Forest Bathing, Forest Medicine) is 7 days intensive immersion experience in the Bialowieza Forest (Sunday to Saturday, June 2024), during which you will have the opportunity for theoretical and practical classes in the field and in the classroom;
Session 2 (Forest Therapy – advanced part) consists of 4 days in the forest near Suwalki, Poland (from Thursday to Sunday, October 2024). In addition to the classes during this session you will take the exam necessary to obtain the certificate, consisting of a test and a practical part.

Between the sessions there will be: online lectures, online group activities, theoretical and field work – with your mentor and self practice.

During the training you will learn:

– how the forest environment affects mental, physical, social and spiritual health

– what are forest bathing, forest therapy, forest medicine, silvotherapy, ecotherapy based on the forest environment

– how to design a forest therapy walk and forest bathing, how to mark appropriate trails, and what activities to choose

– how to work with different groups of clients

– what are the challenges of a forest therapy guide and how to deal with them

– what is forest ecology, what dependencies and relations occur in the forest environment

– how aromatherapy, phytotherapy, breathing techniques, mindfulness in nature and therapeutic ornithology combine with forest therapy

– what does forest therapy look like in other countries and on other continents – thanks to international cooperation with countries such as South Korea, Japan, Finland, Czech Republic, Belgium, Lithuania, we have first-hand knowledge

– how to start and run your own business, marketing and be present in social media
